Konkan is situated in West Drayton, Middlesex. The name Konkan relates to the costal region of the Maharashtra state in India, which includes the Mumbai, Mangalore, Malvan and Goa districts.
The Konkan lines the Arabian Sea on the west and is separated from the rest of the state on the east, by the Sahyadri mountain range also known as the Western Ghats. It is a land rich with mineral resources, wildlife, dense forest cover, and a landscape fringed with paddy fields, coconut and mango trees and of course the white sandy beaches.
The Konkan is a land full of Alphanso mangoes, coconuts, cashews, and rice, with the food of the area reflecting this. The food is wholesome yet light and non-oily with subtle flavours.
