The Plymouth Karate Academy was founded in 2000 by Sensei Stuart Hick (3rd Dan) and has gone from strength to strength, training a wide range of members of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Many people consider starting a martial art, but give up on the idea because they feel they are too young, too old or not fit enough. But nothing could be further from the truth. We cater the art of karate to the individual, gradually building up the training to produce skilled and well rounded martial artists, with a good understanding of effective self-defense techniques.

The Academy currently has classes in Plympton at Yealmpstone Farm Primary School catering for children up to the age of 14 and Whitley catering for adults and children over the age of 12 in the Wood View gym at Sir John Hunt Sports College, Wood View Learning Community, for details of classes and Special Promotions go to our information page.
