• This is the first camping holiday I have actually been happy to get home form. Their website and other sites describe the camp as quiet and spacious, which is in fact very far from the truth. It could best be described as cramped and very busy and cramped; when we first arrived it actually reminded me of a 'refugee camp' not what was advertised on the website! In some cases tents had less than two feet between the rears. The whole site looks tired and scruffy. The tent we were offered was not ready for us, it had no curtains, the ground sheet was short of the sides exposing soil and weeds, we had inflatable beds not framed camp beds as advertised, the cooker was electric and the table collapsed as soon as my youngest son leant on it, the few bits of cutlery that were there were rusty, all in all everything was grubby and worn out! We moved tents immediately, but this wasn’t much better. There was mould on the inside of the bedrooms and the mattresses were filthy, all in all it was grubby. I am usually quite positive in these situations but after further investigation into the rest of the site I felt extremely ripped off. There are four showers in one female block and four in one male block, completely inadequate for the 200 plus people on the site, only four toilets per block. The showers would only work if you got up very early to get there before the queues. The laundry room was horrendous, filthy and with old outdated machines. The swimming pool wasn’t heated as advertised, although we didn’t use it as we stayed away from the site for much of the days. The play area had broken swings and lacked the safe wood chips under the climbing sections The shop which isn’t manned and so it’s hard to find anyone to pay was poorly stocked with hardly any food stuffs and no bread. I have stayed in Jersey for three years now and this has really put us off the camping experience. The worst of this is that Bleu Soleil website gives a completely false impression of the site, compared to other sites on Jersey it comes at the bottom for delivering what the website suggests. I suggest in the future we will look at websites like this to get a true picture of the campsite.
